TEIAS took its place in the "Türkiye-Azerbaijan 1st Energy Forum" held in Baku on 21-22 December 2021 co-chaired by Mr. Fatih DÖNMEZ-Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Republic of Türkiye and Mr. Perviz ŞAHBAZOV-Minister of Energy of Republic of Azerbaijan. Within the scope of the forum; Mr. Orhan KALDIRIM, General Manager of TEIAS, met with sector executives Representatives of TEIAS participated in Electricity Market, Electricity Distribution and Transmission Working Group and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Working Group meetings.
In addition, Mr. Orhan KALDIRIM and the accompanying TEIAS delegation visited Azerbaijan transmission system operator AZERENERJI and a cooperation protocol was signed between the two transmission system operators. As part of the protocol; both system operators agreed on sharing experiences on many issues, especially on system integration of renewable energy resources, expanding cooperation on electricity export and import, and establishing a working group on the new Nahcivan-Türkiye interconnection line.
