The term presidency of SEERC (Southeast Europe Regional Council), one of the four regional councils of CIGRE, was transferred from the CIGRE Austrian National Committee to the CIGRE Türkiye National Committee at the end of the 3rd SEERC Conference organized online on 30 November 2021.
In SEERC, which was established in 2013 and has 17 members, it is aimed to develop regional cooperation and increase knowledge-experience sharing. CIGRE Türkiye National Committee also aims to carry out more effective and efficient work in the region, to develop cooperation and to grow with new members during the term of its presidency covering the years 2021-2023. With the 4th SEERC Conference to be held in Istanbul on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, in 2023, the presidency will be transferred to another country.
Türkiye's transmission system operator TEIAS will play an important role in many studies under the term presidency of SEERC, with its position both in Southeastern Europe and in the CIGRE Turkish National Committee.
