INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)

1.         The TURKISH ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION CORPORATION (TEİAŞ) has received a Loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in various currencies towards the cost of “ECSEE APL-3 Project” and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Loan to some payments under the contract for Supply and Installation of 380 kV DAVUTPAŞA GIS S/S - YENİBOSNA GIS S/S Underground XLPE Power Cable Connection work / DB.KAB.5. Since the available funds under ECSEE APL-3 Loan may not be sufficient for the whole value of the contract, TEİAŞ intends to apply for a new Loan from IBRD, and intends to finance some part of this Contract from the new Loan if approved by Bank. In case a new Loan is not available from IBRD, TEİAŞ will finance the Contract from its own resources.

2.         The TURKISH ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION CORPORATION (TEİAŞ) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of following Work: Supply of Goods (380 kV cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated power cables and accessories, fiber optic cables and accessories), manufacturing, testing, transport, delivery, services required at customs and storage at site, engineering and design services, complete erection, construction, installation, supervision, civil works, commissioning, site testing and handing over in satisfactory operating condition of 380 kV Underground Cable Connection Work. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank's Single-Stage Bidding Procedure.

3.         Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of

4.         A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TL 320.- or US$ 200.- (V.A.T included).

 5.         The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the Bank Standard Bidding Documents:  Procurement of Plant, Design, Supply and Installation.

6.          Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 02:00 p.m. (local time) on November 04, 2009 and must be accompanied by a security of; EUROS 300,000. - equivalent (threehundredthousand EUROS)

7.         Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 02:00 p.m. (local time) on November 04, 2009 at the offices of
